Rob has been teaching music since 1990 and is widely experienced with all ages. Originally classically trained on clarinet and piano he regularly leads workshops and short courses and is director of Jazz Course UK. Rob is also a part-time lecturer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. As a performer he has undertaken performances, broadcasts, recordings with Mike Stern, Dan Gottlieb, Jim Mullen, Julian Arguelles, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and many others besides. He has toured and recorded extensively both in the UK and abroad and has led his own groups since 1992, releasing three acclaimed CDs which feature many of his own compositions.
Steve has been involved in music professionally for 20 years. He teaches and performs a variety of instruments and also runs a small recording studio in Ayr, Scotland. He studied jazz at the former National Jazz Institute at Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Alongside his many private students he also undertakes community education work for WEA Scotland. Steve places a strong emphasis on creativity and originality as he believes this is something our culture needs. Past students have won major music competitions and some have moved into professional music careers.
